July is Disability Pride Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of individuals with disabilities. It also marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a landmark civil rights law that has helped remove barriers and expand opportunities for millions of Americans—including those in agriculture.
At AgrAbility of Wisconsin, we are proud to support farmers and agricultural workers with disabilities who continue to shape our rural communities with determination and innovation. Since the passage of the ADA in 1990, progress has been made in making agriculture more accessible, but there is still work to be done.
Through adaptive equipment, education, and one-on-one support, AgrAbility of Wisconsin helps ensure that disability is not a limitation to farming success. We believe that every farmer deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of physical or cognitive challenges.
This month, we honor the legacy of the ADA and the ongoing efforts to build a more inclusive agricultural community. We celebrate the farmers who persevere, adapt, and lead—and we reaffirm our commitment to supporting them every step of the way.
Together, we grow stronger.
